Time and Tide zine AND an Etsy shop
Yes Christmas has come early for me today! After hours of blood (paper cuts), sweat and tears, I finally have some items in my fabled Etsy shop . Take a little gander if you fancy....

Maximo Park
This was such a fantastic way to spend a Friday night: it was happy, sweaty and loud.
Things that I have learnt so far about the crowds at Scottish gigs
- they are eclectic
- enthusiastic
- wonderfully vocal
- and they even sing along to the insturmental parts of the songs (this can be no bad thing in my book)
(PS This is not my video, I was one of the people jumping around near the front...)
There is also a great video here, which consists of the majority of Maximo Park performing in a taxi. Splendid

Fringe Benefits
Our very first Fringe. We'll we survived. A month of full on craziness. Excellent. Wonderfully weird at times, and I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Willy Mason
We were lucky enough to see Willy Mason at Cabaret Voltaire this week. And well, we were not disappointed! I am always awe struck how some people are brave enough to get up on a stage by themselves and sing. I don't even think I could even make it onto the stage... It was a brilliant night and a tiny venue- here's a sample of Mr Mason's work....

When the world zigs, zag...
I'm going to see John Hegarty give a talk later this week. He is the man behind the BBH advertising agency and is responsible for some very memorable-not to mention famous- advertising campaigns including that jeans advert.

"...Cynicism is the death of creativity. Never become a cynic. That's the important thing."

When we were vikings...
I spent the evening playing Kubb in the Meadows- which is a game invented by the Vikings apparently- Anyway, it involves throwing sticks, at well essentially other sticks but it was a great way to spend a summer evening.
( I can report that no pillaging or further viking activities ensued)

North Berwick
An outing to North Berwick today. We went on the train-which gave the day a bit of an old school holiday-outing-vibe...
